General Rules

  • Is obligatory for all members to read and understand all the General Rules and Track Rules. If is evident that you don't know a rule, you can be suspended or banned.

  • Be honest and polite to all members. This is a friendly competition.

  • You most use a steering wheel. Use of gamepads and keyboards are banned.

  • Car setup most be default. No changes are allowed to any component of the car setup (wings, gear ratio, etc). Not even the quick car setup slider is allowed to touch.

  • Tire, fuel and pitstop strategy is free to choice.

  • Use of fuel mix, brake balance (change in track, not in garage), KERS and DRS are allowed in qualify and race.

  • Is obligatory to enable and pay attention to the proximity arrow.

  • Is obligatory to record your fastest qualify lap and full race showing your car setup in the garage, and upload to youtube (any channel of yours) in the 3 days after every race. Players that don't provide video after this period are disqualify from race, with a few exceptions in especial situations.

  • You have a car (team) assigned by this league, and you have the responsibility to select that team in the game before the race start.

  • Your internet connection most be stable. If your connection is "laggy", that may be for reasons like using WiFi or having some application using your bandwidth, you can't participate. If problem persist with other races, you will be remove from this league. Also, if your ping is abnormally high (over 400 ms across the world) you can't participate.

  • Some issues will be let for votes to decide. Things like some controversial penalties (like penalty for the admin) and league changes. This polls are done on the league forum thread. The results only will count when a great majority agrees (at least 60%). If not, the decision will be made by the administrator. Members votes are the only ones that count, so any outsider voting will be ignore.

  • All members should follow the league forum thread, or at least check it ones in a while since news and discussions are post there. Ignoring this thread for a long time while participating on races could cause you to be suspended or banned.

  • Don't share any private information about networks or invite outsiders. We have to make sure there is no trolls on the race.

  • There's a limit of 10 players per race, because the game is unstable when there are too many players at the same time (players get disconnected). Because of this if 11 (or more) players are online 30 minutes before the Grand Prix, the slowest drivers will have a 5 lap knockout race with collisions turn off. The ones that finish last don't participate on the real race. If there is 10 players online and an additional slow driver join less than 30 minutes for the Grand Prix to start, that driver don't participate since there is no time for the knockout race to take place. If the one joining late is a top driver, the knockout most be done and the Grand Prix will be delay.

  • About disconnections and retires: Grand Prix will not wait for anyone (not even for the administrator), unless is just for a few minutes (15 minutes tops) if is clear that a member is on the process of joining in. Qualifying sessions are abort and restart when 40% or more of the players that start the session lost connection. For example: If qualify start with 10 players, and if 4 players disconnect in the qualify, the qualify most be restarted; If qualify start with 7 players, and if 3 players disconnect in the qualify, the qualify most be restarted. Races are aborted and restart (maybe for the following week) when 50% or more of the players that start the race (on the grid) lost connection or retire. For example: If the race starts with 10 players, and if 5 players disconnect or retire in the race, the Grand Prix most be restarted.

  • Is not allowed to spectate races, join in the middle of a race, nor quit intentionally. If you want to retire, retire and leave the game running. All this is to avoid problems to other players. Sometimes when someone quit or lose connection make other players freez their game, or even loss connection too.

  • If a member retire too often from races, he will get banned. Meaning is obligatory to try to finish the races you start.

  • Your username most not be intentionally offensive, and most not be exactly as a famous person or brand. Although you can use variations or parts of famous names if you want (like using only the last-name of a famous person).

  • Lag rule: You most keep in mind that distances between players around the world cause a delay time (ping) that creates illusions about where other cars are. So everybody most keep some distances with other cars, and avoid blocking in straights when cars are near you. An example of a common mistakes is braking a little late and hitting the car in-front, even when in your perspective you didn't touch that car, but the collision did happen and you will be blame for the collision. Here is an animation about that:

Track Rules

Penalty seconds are given by the administrator after watching the videos of the participants. Those penalties can be appeal in the 6 days period after the race were videos are discuss on the forum. If a great majority of members (60%) don't agree with a specific penalty, that penalty will be removed. In the same way, if many agree to give a penalty that was not apply by administrator, that penalty will be apply. Penalties gived by the game on the race can be removed or reduced if is clear was unfair.

The things that will result in a penalty are the following:

  • Collisions: If you cause a collision that make another car to lose a lot of time or lose places, is a guarantied penalty. If any collision is non-intentional, don't give you advantage and don't cause the other car to lose time, no penalty apply. Also if both drivers share the fault for a collision, no penalty apply to nether driver.

  • Braking late: The car behind another car is generally to blame for causing a front-back collision. So any collision from the back that makes the front car to lose considerable amount of time is a penalty for the car behind. If you are very close another car in-front and you want to make sure to not hit it when braking, chose another race line (example: if the car in-front is on the right, you go to the left). Braking early is in most cases not consider blocking, unless is clear he brake unusually too early, so cars behind have the responsibility to be careful to not brake on the limit.

  • Start of the race: The start of the race tends to be very chaotic because there is a bottle neck effect and everybody want to pass each-other. Is even worst considering that lag cause illusions very often. For this reason is obligatory to stay on your side of the track and wait for the car in-front of you to pass the first corner, before you can go. In other words, nobody should attempt to overtake the front car in your row in the start. Instead, everybody should go in formation in 2 rows to the first corner. You can pass another car only if is done completely before braking point, when a car in-front is too slow and you have time to make a complete overtake before the braking point. If you try this overtake, remember to stay on your side of the track at all time, unless you are 100% sure you are clear to change side. Also you most brake early for first corner to avoid collisions to front cars, especially if you start on the back of the grid. Penalties for violating this rule is from 10 to 15 seconds. To understand this rule better, watch the following video where is explain in detail.

  • Illegal defending: Is not allowed to block in any way to defend position in straights, or straight-like corners, when cars are very close behind you. Meaning if a car is near behind you, you most choice a side of the track and stay there. You also most consider lag, so even if you look clear you should not block the other car. Is only consider clear when there is quite some safe space between cars.

  • Illegal overtake: If you do a dirty pass, you should give-up the place immediately. If is not clear if was a dirty pass and you don't give-up place, it will be later reviewed by the administrator and a penalty may apply. Examples of dirty passes are: forcing the other car go out of track in a side-by-side situation, causing a collision that give you advantage, going out of track in side-by-side situation, making a last second move when the corner already start, etc. If you cause a collision that makes the other driver to lose a lot of time, you can give-up the place and some seconds can be removed from your penalty, depending on how much you wait and how much time the driver affected lose. If two cars are side-by-side and the next corner is too narrow for both cars to pass, the car inside the corner have priority because it is blocking the way for the other car. If you don't have space to pass, brake or decelerate. You can't crash a car in-front or in your side because he is on your way. From the perspective of the car behind, is consider side-by-side when half of his car is on the side of the front car. If less than half of your car is on the side of the front car, is NOT consider side-by-side so you might need to back-off if you are in the race line of a corner, to prevent the collision when the front car returns to the race line. If this collision happen, is the behind-driver fault because he didn't have half of his car on the side of the other car, so he don't "earn" the place to be there. This don't apply in straights, or straight-like corners, where front car should not block in any way even if is clear on his side.

  • Going out of track to gain advantage: Is consider going out of track when more than 2 wheels pass the white (sometimes yellow) line that is on the edge of the track (if there is no white line, like in Monaco, edge of kerb will count as the edge of the track). If you go out of track too much and too often in the race, a penalty will apply depending how much and how often you did it. If you go out of track very little a lot of times in normal race situation, it will not count as a violation. If you go out of track by a lot quite often gaining advantage, a 5 seconds penalty will apply. Going out of track in normal race situation only count as violation when you gain advantage from it. If is clear that you don't gain advantage by going out of track in normal race situation, it will not count as violation. Going out of track more than the tire-wide while been side-by-side with another car, or at the end of a side-by-side situation, is a guarantied 5 seconds penalty unless you give-up the place immediately. Only exceptions are if you was push out of track, if both players go out of track, or if is 100% clear you loss A LOT of time (losing a little time is not enough as excuse). Also is not allowed to start an overtaking move if you take a substantial help from going out of track, unless you are overtaking someone that is abnormally slow (he make a mistake). You can go out of track if is to avoid a collision, but even in that case you should not use that to pass another car, unless you are passing someone that is unusually very low, which you would pass him anyway.

  • Returning to track: If you spin or have an accident, watch for other cars (use the map, mirrors and look behind) and be careful giving space for other cars to pass. If you see a car in-front of you returning to track, you should also leave space for him even if that means go out of racing line or slow down. Is not allowed to return to track inside chicanes if cars are near. Any collision for blocking when entering the track will be a penalty, and even a suspension.

  • Getting lapped: When you get a blue flag, carefully let pass the car behind giving as much space you can give. Ideally you should go far from race line and brake a lot. After you let him pass, stay away from that car. Anything that make lose time to the car lapping you will be a 15 seconds penalty and a possible suspension.

  • Qualify Lap: If you go out of track in a qualifying hot lap, you should abort the lap. If in your final qualifying lap time you go out of track you will get 10 to 20 seconds penalty added to your race result, depending on how much, or how many times, you go out of track. Increments are 5 seconds. How much you can go out of track? If for example the turn is to the right, the front-left wheel should not overpass the white line more than the wide of a front tire. If the space between the white line and the tire is more than the wide of a front tire, is illegal. This applies also for corner exit. Only exception when is allowed is when is very clear you loss considerable amount of time. If you qualify last place having an illegal lap time you will no receive a penalty for it because you could not gain anything to anyone for going out of track.

  • Blocking on qualify: If you are not doing a hot lap on qualify and you make another player lose time on their hot lap, you will receive 10 seconds penalty added to your race result. If both are doing a hot lap, no one is obligated to let pass the other (will be like race situation).

  • Pit stop: If someone go over the pit exit line will be a 5 second penalty, unless he return inside the limits before the line ends and he didn't block anyone or take advantage. The line in the pit entrance is more flexible to cut only if 2 wheels remain inside the limits. If you cut pit entrance line with 4 wheels a 5 seconds penalty can be apply if is determined that you gain advantage (even if is 0.001 seconds of advantage). If you are going to enter the pits and you have someone on your side in the way to the pits, you most let him pass before you can turn in direction to the pits. If collision happen the fault is of the driver joining the pits, and he get a penalty.

Penalty seconds: The amount of penalty seconds are set depending on how much you affect other drivers, unless is already mention on the rules above.

  • 5 seconds for minor things that don't affect the other driver much. Things like doing illegal overtakes without giving up the place, defend place illegally like pushing out of track, causing a collision that make the other driver lose around 3 seconds or more (if is around 2 seconds there will be no penalty).

  • 10 seconds for things that affect a little the other driver. For example: making another driver lose around 5 or more seconds, making another driver loss 1 or 2 places, making another driver lose quite some time but giving up the place.

  • 15 seconds for things that are quite bad, like making another driver lose quite some time, or making him lose 3 or more places.

If drivers are tied on points, positions are decided on results count-back. Wins are compared, and the driver with most wins is classified ahead. If wins are equal, second places are looked at, and so on. If still tied, the first that have their best results is classified ahead.

Any driver who completed at least 90% of the race distance will be classified, whether or not he was running when the winner took the chequered flag.

Team Selection

The players with most points after each Season finish have priority to choice their team/car for the next Season. So the winner of the Championship is the first to select the team he wants; the 2nd with most points choice 2nd; and so on.

The administrator have a list of the team preferences for each member that will be used to assign teams before the start of each Season. If you want to make changes or make sure your team preference is known, contact the administrator about it before new Season start.

Ones someone was assign with a team, he can't change until Season is over. So don't expect for last minute changes.
